THE Friendship Guild hosted a ‘Christmas in July’ on Wednesday, 15 July for their members, while honouring Mandela Day by donating blankets to John Dunn House.
“Our emphasis is giving to others. We collected blankets and knee rugs for the residents of John Dunn House,” said Friendship Guild president, Margaret Everett.
Each resident was given a blanket and a packet of sweets and cake was shared with the home. Donations were also given to the Salvation Army.
The guild, which has been in operation for 25 years, celebrated with a country and western themed party for its members. The gathering danced, ate and sang its way through an exciting morning of entertainment, before delivering the much-needed items to the John Dunn residents.
