Wasp clothing drive brings comfort to vulnerable communities
Wasp spread some warmth and love to different vulnerable communities in the Durban South with its clothing drive.
BRIAN Naidoo, founder of Widowed and Single Parents (Wasp) organisation, made his way through the Durban South with his vehicle loaded with new clothing for various organisations and vulnerable communities.

Naidoo said he was able to donate a variety of clothing essentials from baby tracksuits and sleep shorts to boxer briefs, all intended for local care facilities and children’s homes.
“Beneficiaries included the St Monica’s Children’s Home, Sparks Estate Cheshire Home, the Durban Children’s Home, St Thomas Children’s Home, the Aryan Benevolent Home, Shepherd’s Keep and St Martin’s Children’s Home,” said Naidoo.
He added that they also distributed to various individuals who were in need.
Naidoo acknowledged that none of this would happen without the support of donors and sponsors.
“We are truly grateful for their support, this is a collaborative effort,” he said.
Present challenges and pleas
However, the logistics of moving large quantities of donations continues to be a challenge for the organisation. Wasp is looking for a trailer and a towbar to alleviate issues with their delivery of donations. Concurrently, the organisation is looking for used magazines as well.
Contact and support:
Naidoo encouraged anyone in the community or the business sector who might be able to help with a trailer, towbar or magazines to reach out. Those interested in assisting the organisation can contact Brian Naidoo on 084 474 6669 or find more details on their website at www.waspnpo.org.za.
