Seven people were injured and one was killed during the early morning collision.

ONE person was killed when a car and truck crashed on Lansdowne Road in Wentworth at about 7am on Monday, 27 July.

The driver of the car was killed in the crash, while his passenger and one person in the truck were critically injured. Five more people in the truck also required medical attention.

“The car driver had unfortunately suffered severe injuries and there was nothing paramedics could do to assist him. He was declared deceased on the scene,” said Jamieson.

An advanced life support paramedic stabilised the two seriously injured people and all seven people were transported to hospital.

“At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further,” he added.
