Kudos to caring cops
South Africa is a better country because of officers like you.

EDITOR – I’d like to express my sincerest gratitude to the officers at the Brighton Beach police station.
On Friday, 11 September at around 9pm I went to the police station to report that my 10-year-old son had not come home and no-one knew where he was, even his friends I had asked.
We had looked for him everywhere possible.
The officers on night shift were so compassionate, understanding and professional. The manner in which they treated us was comforting and reassuring. They never gave us statistics about missing children who have never been found. This was so refreshing, especially after the treatment I had received at the Broad Street police station two months ago.
The woman officers went out in the middle of the night, in driving rain, to try and locate my son.
The following morning when I went back to report I had found my son, I received the same stellar treatment from the officers on day duty.
It’s a pity I did not get their names, but the state I was in, I could not.
South Africa is a better country because of officers like you. Thank you so much.
