EDITOR – Social media has become the place to show your worst side and it’s nowhere more apparent than on the Bluff.
The forums open to Bluff residents fester with hate speech, insulting language and generally derogative comments.
It’s frightening to realize that there is so much hatred that we as South Africans feel towards one another. While the rainbow nation is clearly a long way off, one would’ve thought that, 20 years into our young democracy, we could at least learn to live alongside one another in acceptance and aiming towards a common goal.
Take a look at the various online pages and social forums for the Bluff community to see just how far off the dream of one nation is. It’s sadly a very distant vision.
