Tennis courts in need of repair

BRIGHTON Tennis Club is doing its part to develop young talent and get children interested in sports and being active but needs assistance to repair its courts.
The club, which is one of the strongest in Durban with numerous league titles, hosts internationally-renowned former professional player, Natalie Grandin.
Grandin and Karen Blaunfeldt are working on a campaign to promote tennis on the Bluff and get youngsters playing the sport.
“I played on the Women’s Tennis Association tour for 15 years and it has been great to come and help the community learn to play tennis at such a fantastic club. I have been very involved in the club and it is great to see we are one of the only clubs in Durban that have such a strong social tennis presence with most of the players coming down to social every weekend,” said Grandin.
Through Blaunfeldt and Grandin, the club has seen the development of a new group of aspiring tennis aces under their tutelage, but two of the courts are in disrepair and the club calls for assistance to allow their work to continue.
The courts are also available to the public for hire and the gardens are available for hire for private functions.
