Refinery team scoops HSE Award
Winning the award confirms for us that we are on the right track as we embed high standards of safety.
SAPREF Refinery’s Island View team scooped this year’s Transnet Port Authorities (TNPA) award as the best performer on health, safety and environment (HSE) compliance for the Island View precinct.
The award stems from recommendations after a recent TNPA HSE compliance audit on all companies within the precinct. The deep dive audit consisted of a site inspection and process safety reviews, including document reviews. The audit team was left impressed with Sapref’s HSE performance.
Sapref’s production unit manager at Island View, Suleman Asmal said: “Winning the award confirms for us that we are on the right track as we embed high standards of safety. We continually strive to improve our safety in our workplace and to be a good neighbour at the Island View precinct as we carry out our business.”
