Stainbank WI celebrates Christmas in style

STAINBANK Women’s Institute’s (WI) last meeting of the year was celebrated in style.
President Arlene Greenfield welcomed all members and many visitors, especially the two really VIP members Noleen Walker, federation president and Maureen Lavis, executive member.
It was so good to have them present. All members and visitors then sang Unity in great voice to start off the proceedings.
Lynne Graham, usual choir member, sent her apologies and Trish Braum also thought of Stainbank and sent a message.
Thank you to the faithful members who keep knitting beanies and booties for children, which are gratefully accepted. Marsha Hart and Beattie Johnson Webber produced the most amazing floral arrangement for the top table. Greetings were received from Yellowwood Park, Woodlands and Southern Hills WI. Unfortunately Stainbank is set to lose one of its longstanding members, Donna Chelin who has relocated to Ballito and will be resigning from institute. SWI is sorry to see her go.
The president then made the usual announcements, as there will be no meeting in January.

Stainbank WI is more than lucky to have Bernadette Pellow Jarman as a member of its choir and she managed to produce wonderful music by just using a computer. It was absolute magic. All the choir members were in full voice with songs of love and Christmas and even some from Stainbank’s own ‘Beatles’. Thanks also go to Jessica Hewer who filmed the entertainment. The meeting ended with the president saying the WI prayer and wishing all a safe and blessed Christmas and New Year, with a reminder to all members to always be safe.
