Merebank woman injured after robbery

A Merebank woman sustained facial injuries after she was robbed of all her belongings while walking to work.

A WOMAN from Merebank was on her way to work when a man hiding behind a pillar of Rawalpindi Road pedestrian bridge robbed her of her belongings and dropped her on the ground on October 1.

The incident happened around 14:20 when the man grabbed the woman and instructed her to keep quiet and hand over her black shopping bag containing her cellphone, cash and house keys.

Nick Datadin from PT Alarms said she got injured when she tried to escape and fell down a few steps.

“No weapons were produced during the robbery,” he said.

PT Tactical Unit worked with several stakeholders to search for the perpetrator, however he had fled in an unknown direction.
