Water was to be restored to residents at 06:00, but for many it is still off. Residents in Yellowwood Park, Coedmore and Woodlands areas are affected through the Westcliff reservoir. eThekwini Municipality said that contractors are on site and fast-tracking the outstanding work to restore the water supply.

“Following completion of the welding work, the affected section of the pipeline needs to be completely dry before sandblasting and painting can be undertaken inside the pipe,” said the municipality in a statement.

The new completion time

The municipality said they currently do not have a set time of when the work will be done but they are pushing for later today (October 1).

They have also extended their apologies for any inconvenience the shutdown has caused on residents and businesses.
