Little Beauty Queen notches up another win

A YOUNG star is in the making as five-year-old, Luyanda ‘Mimi’ Cele claimed yet another pageant title, the Miss Christmas Royalty on Saturday, 3 December at Yellowwood Park Bowling Club.

This brings her tally of wins and placements to 11 titles which is an amazing accomplishment given she only started modelling in March.

The 5-year-old Pemberton Pre-Primary pupil was bitten by the modelling bug months ago but it seems becoming a beauty queen is in her blood. In her youth, her grandmother Veronica used to take part in pageants and graced the stage with her beauty. “This was inspiration enough for her and I’m so proud of what my granddaughter has achieved so far. I’m sure one day she would like to become Miss SA,” chuckles Veronica.

Among her titles, Mimi has also won Miss Tiny Youth Queen KZN, Little Miss Ambassador KZN, Miss Spring Fever KZN-2016 and was a Miss Tiny SA Finalist. She achieved first princess in Miss Pageants SA and second princess in Youth Princess-Miss Petite, Trelique Graduation and Frozen Fairy Face SA. She also participated in Miss Tourism Zululand and Miss Zululand.

Participating in so many competitions only brings joy to little Mimi, who soaks up the attention and loves being around people. She loves fashion and always has a hand in designing her outfits for the pageants. The talented five-year-old loves to play, dance and watch cartoons which she will always find time to do despite her busy schedule.

She looks forward to the new year and can’t wait to enter more pageants.
