FRIDAY to SUNDAY, 26 to 28 MAY: Mountain Backpackers Club enjoys guided day hikes at Mhlopeni Nature Reserve near Greytown. At this SA natural heritage site, the weather may plummet to 0 degrees, so wrap up warm. Self-catering camp costs R150 per person and own tent costs R80 per person. Accommodation is available. Guided hikes on Saturday and Sunday will take in the beautiful bushveld, game and prolific birdlife. Pre-booking and payment is essential. TUESDAY, 30 MAY: Fynnland Combined Sports Club fundraising evening at Grand Rapids Spur from 6pm to 9pm. Support is urged as the club will be given a percentage of the takings during that time, to help it replace the desperately needed hall roof.
