New nurse to enrich the lives of CROW’s wildlife

Tanya hopes to broaden her knowledge of animal health, with a focus on orthopaedics while at CROW.

THE Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) has welcomed Tayla Hawkins, a new junior clinic nurse who recently joined their team.

“Driven by her passion for animals, Tayla strives to find unique and non-invasive ways of enriching the lives of wild animals,” said marketing and communications officer, Chandré De Bruyn.

She completed her studies to become a nature conservationist at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in 2013 with a focus on ecology, plant studies and the law of nature conservation.

“Her love for animals is what motivated her to pursue a career in wildlife and environmental conservation,” said Chandré. She hopes to broaden her knowledge of animal health, with a focus on orthopaedics while at CROW.
