JUST IN: Shots fired as Bluff jewellery store robbed

Shoppers and tenants fled for cover as reports of gunshots being heard

A woman working at Bluff Towers has confirmed that multiple shots were fired moments after a jewellery shop was robbed by gunmen earlier today (Monday, 22 January).
While information is still coming in, police and security services have been deployed in search of a silver vehicle which is believed to have been involved in an armed robbery.

A woman shopper who was in the mall said everybody started running into the shops to take cover after they heard the crack of gunfire.
“I commend the police for their quick response to the shooting. Everything seems to be under control but it was such a scary experience,” said the shopper.
The shooting could not be confirmed with Brighton Beach police station at the time of publishing this article. This is a developing story, which will be updated.
