Tyre thieves deflate local truck owners’ rides

Make an anonymous report to crime information

BRIGHTON BEACH SAPS have warned truck drivers and owners to be aware of a spike in theft from trucks occurring in the Clairwood and Jacobs industrial area.

“Truck tyres, rims and batteries are items that are being removed from trucks parked off in trucking yards, on business premises and along streets,” said Brighton Beach spokesman Capt Louise Le Roux.

Truck owners and drivers, and those who accommodate trucks on their premises, are to ensure sufficient security measures are in place to prevent the recurrence of these crimes.

Anyone who has information on individuals involved in the theft from trucks are urged to make an anonymous report to crime information officer Capt JP Mathonsi on 031-451-8013/63.
