Ramblers set to explore heart of Durban

DURBAN Ramblers Hiking Club will be out and about in the heart of Durban this weekend.

On Saturday, 23 March, hike leader Tina will lead walkers on a grade one (easy to moderate) 7km walk in Glenwood’s Pigeon Valley.

Call Tina on 083-289-6276. This street walk is via Phansi Museum to explore Pigeon Valley Nature Reserve. There are a few steep hills. Enjoy drinks afterwards at a nearby pub. Park and meet at 1.45pm across the road from Stella Sports Club (175 Helen Joseph Road).


On Sunday, 24 March, hikers will explore the parks of the Berea.

This 14km grade two, easy walk is led by hike leader Philip Collyer. Call him on 082-417-0204. Explore the green areas of the Berea including Bulwer, Meyrick Bennett, Pigeon Valley and Umbilo. Drinks afterwards will be at the Stella Sports Club (175 Helen Joseph Road). Park there in time to start hiking at 8am.
