Military officers adopt healthy lifestyles

The aim of the event was to promote healthy living and a healthy lifestyle by encouraging military officers to exercise on a regular basis.

TROPHIES were handed out to the best male and female runner who came first in the military-run/ walk event on Friday, 12 April.
The event took place at the Bluff military base’s sports grounds.

Military units including, navy, military, and the air force attended the race.


The walk/ run also served as an educational event. The aim of the event was to promote healthy living and a healthy lifestyle by encouraging military officers to exercise on a regular basis.

A health talk was given by Area Military Health Unit KZN officer commanding, Colonel Trevor Pillay who provided prevention advice and causes of TB and urged each officer to visit the health tent situated at the grounds.
A pre-warm up was done before the run to get the participants’ blood hot and pumping and ready for the race.
