Fun while learning at tutoring centre’s sports day [PHOTOS]

"At the end of the day, each learner received a medal as I honestly believe that every single child here is a winner," said owner, Charleen Moodley.

BETTA Learning Centre on the Bluff hosted a mini sports day on Saturday, 6 September.

Serving delicious cup cakes are Liam Nisbet and Matthew Plaatjies.

Selling scrumptious hot dogs are Damian Moodley, Chantina Adams and Joelene De Bruin.

The Lady Bugs, Purple Team and Banana Team donned their house colours of red, purple and yellow respectively and represented their team in the Saturday morning sun at Bayview Sports Ground.

“The purpose was to have fun, learn and the overall well-being of our little Grade Rs to Grade 6s. For our Grade 7s to matrics, it was the perfect way to teach them about business startups. While the little ones ran like the wind, the bigger children supplied and made eats and refreshments. The only goal for the day was to have fun,” said owner of the centre, Charleen Moodley.

Supporting the Lady Bugs are Connor and Latoya Cavanagh, Mishelle Pieters and Kenya Cavanagh.

“At the end of the day, each learner received a medal, as I believe every single child was a winner and we had no losers. For the children who won a race, they received a second medal and a small certificate, and each group received a trophy.”

Profits made on the day were given to the Grades 7s to 12s to use as they see fit, as according to Charleen, they worked hard and deserved it.

Supporting the day are Tina Moollman, Claudette Bloem, Kareen Whitcher and Nethley Grantham.

Representing the Purple Team is Javarn Matthys.
