Weather doesn’t damp the players

On a very hot and humid morning the any pairs competition was played at Woodlands Bowling Club on Wednesday, 6 November.

Overall winners were Joan Bruce and Ron Addinall on a 4+6. Second session winners were Tom Cloete and Rob Carr on 2+5. Tom Cloete won the roast chicken raffle sponsored by Yellowwood Park Spar. Tom Cloete won the R40 money board with Linda Hewer snagging the dregs of R20.

On Thursday, 7 November, in overcast and cooler weather the breakfast casual 4’s was played. Overall winners were Garth Aberdeen, Anna Vogues, Dixie Wolley and Gwen Clarke on 4+19. Second session winners were Lindi Samuels, Nolan Openshaw, Nora Clifford and Marietha de Kock on 2+13 and first session winners were Hugh Martin, Monique Wells, Lynne Watson and Nora Gilder on 2+12. The gammon meat draw was won by Dawn Spack and both the R40 money boards were won by Kurt Spack with Dixie Wolley and Bernie Golden snagging R20 each.

Diarise Saturday, 30 November, for another fun day to start at 1pm for 1.30pm. On Friday, 8 November, the sports bar snow ball was won by Dave Leuchars on number 151. The snow ball is back to R100 next week. Meat draw was won by Dereck Botha on number 48. Dennis Tarboton won on number 94 and Ansie Holder won on number 199. On Friday, 15 November, DJ Mike will play good music in the bar.
