Crusaders FC dominates at friendly game
Spectators felt that the referee was giving free kicks to the away team quite a lot, but as the saying goes, the show must go on, which it did.
FIERCE competition and burning passion made for very interesting spectatorship at Olge Sports Grounds in Wentworth.
The Saturday morning, 23 November, during a friendly game saw the Crusaders FC from Wentworth verse the Amawundlu Ladies FC from Chesterville, a team still in its infancy.
Both sides played intensely, Amawundlu being unlucky several times at the goal post with blunders costing them a few scores. The Crusaders, with much more experience, showed their dominance on the field and with their first goal, set the tone for the rest of the game. The Wentworth team kept up its momentum and secured a second goal by first half.
Spectators felt that the referee was giving free kicks to the away team quite a lot, but as the saying goes, the show must go on, which it did. While it seemed like Amawundlu was being favoured, they were still two points down to their host team which stressed out the coaches. Nevertheless, both teams pressed on with Crusaders shooting their last goal to secure themselves an uncontested win.
The final score was 3-0 in favour of the Wentworth team.
