Crusaders end season with gratitude

Owner and manager of the club Gordon Forbes-Harding, showed appreciation to his players for their loyalty, hard work and dedication throughout the season.

ASK any football professional how they got to where they are and almost all of them will say that their journey included countless hours on the field perfecting their skill. This testimony is no different to Wentworth’s Crusaders Football Club who recently held its sports awards evening to end the season before the festive season rush.
Owner and manager of the club Gordon Forbes-Harding, showed appreciation to his players for their loyalty, hard work and dedication throughout the season. The players in turn unexpectedly surprised him with a gift and thanked him for the years he has put into the club as a father-figure to them and for everything they have learnt in football.
Next on the itinerary was the prize giving of players who did exceptionally on the field this season. Captain of the team, Andrea Singh, received awards for most influential player and player of the year while Carmen Barnard received the award for the most improved player. Tia Newell and Jasmin Crawage both snatched the highest goal scorer award. And Patricia Taylor received the coach of the year award for the role she played with the girls, she was awe struck when she received an unexpected appreciation present from the players.
Also in attendance were the players’ parents as well as the wife, children and grandchildren of the team’s owner and manager, Gordon, who were also thanked by players for allowing them to ‘borrow’ their father as he spends more of his time on the football pitch than at home.
Gordon expressed his gratitude to the parents who trusted him with their children and the supporters who availed themselves to watch matches. The evening ended with a delicious meal.
