Final round of twilight bowls will continue at Bluff Bowling Club

Bluff BC hosts the 3-2-1 killer pairs competition on Friday, 6 March, try to attend from 8.30am.

Bluff Bowling Club members were supposed to play the penultimate round of twilight bowls on Friday, 28 February, but the rain decided otherwise and the greens were closed.

The two top teams are still John Connellan and Robert Mshlongo. The club will play the final round on Friday, 6 March. With regard to the draws, there was neither a joker nor a lotto draw due to the weather and the turnout, and the attendance draw was won by Elize Stapelberg, who was not available.

On Saturday, 29 February, there was men’s league bowls and the women’s team played their competition at home.

The results were drawn pairs, semi-final, Bridget White and Phyllis Maritz beat Daphne Reinhart and Ronel Morel 30-12 and Elize and Glynis Mackroy beat Lilah Nel and Chrissie Smith 22-20. Congratulations to the winners.

On Sunday, 1 March, the diving bell pairs competition was played and the second session winners were Lionel Diamond and Clint Duncan 2+19. The second overall winners were Jorge Santos and Jacques Geldenhuys who scored 4+10 and the overall winners were Elize and Phyllis who scored 4+19.

Dudley Dorrofield is recovering from his operation and should be discharged this week.

The Bluff men’s annual fours competition will be held on Saturday and Sunday, 7 and 8 March. There are still a few places available, contact the club’s president, Garry Moffat on 076-680-4577 if you can field a team of four bowlers.
