Cansa shavathon spreads rainbow of hope

The theme was ‘Hope 2020’, fitting for the worthy cause, as participants gave  hope to cancer survivors and loved ones, by showing solidarity with them in the fight against cancer.

BLUFF towers was abuzz of colourful excitement where community members came in their numbers to stencil, spray or shave their hair. This was in efforts to raise much needed funds as part of the Cancer Association of South Africa’s (Cansa) national shavathon initiative.

The theme was ‘Hope 2020’, fitting for the worthy cause, as participants gave  hope to cancer survivors and loved ones, by showing solidarity with them in the fight against cancer. “Funds received go towards Cansa’s care and support programmes for patients, caregivers and loved ones. We raised R10 110 towards the shavathon and have not even counted the donations in the money tins. Our Durban South Bluff support group and volunteers were awesome. We appreciate the support of the community and public at large,” said Cansa volunteer Nola Nirghin.
