Clairwood police operation leads to demolition of illegal structures
Daily clean-up and by-law enforcement operations in Umlazi and Clairwood resulted in the demolition of eight illegally erected structures.
THE metro police have intensified law enforcement operations across eThekwini over the past week, with a series of intelligence-led actions targeting drug dealing, theft, unlawful structures and non-compliance with municipal by-laws.
In the Southern Region, daily clean-up and by-law enforcement operations in Umlazi and Clairwood resulted in the demolition of eight illegally erected structures on August 30.
According to the spokesperson for eThekwini Municipality, Senzelwe Mzila, four foreign nationals who were unable to produce documentation were also arrested during the operation.

They were detained at Montclair police station.
Residents are urged to report illegal or suspicious activity in their communities to the police or to the Durban Metro Police Service on 031 361 0000.
