Full schedule planned at Wentworth Bowling Club

A busy week lies ahead for bowlers at Wentworth Bowling Club.Activity starts with the promotion and development bowls on Wednesday, 11 March, at 2pm; then moves on to the bi-weekly twilight bowls on Thursday, 12 March, at 6pm. The joker and attendance draws will take place after bowls.
Members are encouraged to get their joker tickets and be at the club to be eligible for the attendance draw which stands at R200.
The joker jackpot in excess of R2 300, making it well worth having tickets in the pot.Friday night, 13 March, heralds the start of the five week twilight two bowl trips league and the club invites all bowlers to put in a team to stand a chance to win great prizes.
On Sunday, 15 March, the club’s annual St Patrick’s Day fun day promises family fun and laughter. The fun starts at 10am with activities for children. Remember the old family picnics with sack races, wheelbarrow races and general family fun? Irish fun bowls starts at 1.30pm and the kitchen is open all day to provide for the hungry. This event is open to all members of the community so make a turn at Wentworth Bowling Club and enjoy the hospitality and friendliness of the club.
Congratulations are extended to Jay Retief, Gwen Tait, Kitty Schaefer and La Raine Smith for their win in the women’s drawn fours competition. This achievement sees La Raine’s name etched in gold on the club’s honours board for the first time.
The Grace Hare mixed trips is carded for the afternoon of Saturday, 14 March. Members not playing are encouraged to be at the club to support the participating teams.Get well wishes are sent to Margaret Walters who is having a tough time with her health.
