Wentworth SAPS implement safety and hygiene measures for Covid-19 lockdown

The station is complying with the instructions given to them by SAPS top management to ensure safety measures are in place to curb the coronavirus pandemic and protect community members who will be visiting the station.

WENTWORTH police have implemented the necessary safety and hygiene measures to continue their call to duty amidst the national Covid-19 lockdown.

The station is also complying with the instructions given to them by SAPS top management to ensure safety measures are in place to curb the coronavirus pandemic and protect community members who will be visiting the station to report crime, certify documents and report incidents.

“The required information as well as relevant contact details are displayed at the front entrance of the station. Members of the public who visit the station are urged to use the sanitiser, which is available at the main entrance, before being attended to and after as they leave. The public who need more details can also request for more information from the community service centre desk,” said Wentworth SAPS communications officer, Captain Mbuso Gumede.

The station will remain open 24 hours and it will serve the community as usual. “The community must also read newspapers and equip themselves with knowledge during this time and also adhere to the call which the president has made on the news. The police will be patrolling the area to ensure that permitted businesses comply with the set operating times. We urge everyone and business owners to comply and do the right thing. The police will enforce the law against those who fail to comply,” added Gumede.

For more information or to report a crime, contact Wentworth SAPS on 031-451-6240/6241/6242 or the Crime Stop line on 08600-10111.
