St Monica’s take precautions amid Covid-19 lockdown

St Monica's Children's Home on the Bluff has undertaken every precaution to minimise the risk for the children in its care.

IN light of the president’s address and the national state of disaster, St Monica’s Children’s Home on the Bluff has undertaken every precaution to minimise the risk for the children in its care.

“At the very core of offering our children a nurturing, and caring environment to reside in, St Monicas focuses on their well-being and protection. We are here to serve in the best interests of our vulnerable children. To this effect, we have not allowed visitors and direct access to the children since the announcement by President Ramaphosa declaring our country a national state of disaster.

“The stark reality is that the virus is spread through human contact. We can see how it is spreading even with limited contact throughout the world. None of our children have been allowed to go on holidays as well. We have strict hygiene practices in place at present for all staff and children and have all the hygienic products available for use. We thank our donors who have generously donated groceries and Easter eggs for our children. Unfortunately due to the lockdown, we will not accept any donations to uphold the decision given by the president. Those service providers who enter our home must follow infection control procedures and fill out the accompanying documents. We thank you for understanding and for your prayers for our children and nation during this difficult time,” concluded Govender.
