Popular Bluff whales festival cancelled
According to Sodurba's vice-chair, Melissa Lee, the State of Emergency and the uncertainty of what lies ahead was their deciding factor to cancel the popular festival.
IN the continued efforts to encourage social distancing so as to not spread the coronavirus, Sodurba Tourism Association joins a number of organisations locally to cancel its public gathering.
The local tourism body had scheduled its popular annual Welcoming of the Whales Festival for June but has since had to cancel it as to heed to the president’s call of no more than 100 people in a gathering.
According to Sodurba’s vice-chair, Melissa Lee, the State of Emergency and the uncertainty of what lies ahead was their deciding factor to cancel the popular festival.
“We are, however, already putting our efforts into 2021 and hoping that this will give us more time to plan this event. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to get this festival to where it should be. We feel confident that placing all our efforts for 2021 will be one of the best years to date,” she said.
