Wentworth Angels continue spreading hope during national lockdown
Wentworth Angels is well recognised in the community and ward 68 councillor, Aubrey Snyman has granted them a permit to function as an essential service in the community.
“MY vision and passion has always been to help those in and around the community.” These are the heartfelt words of Tracey Williams, founder of Wentworth Angels who has continued to bless under-privileged families with a hearty meal every day.
While many organisations have had to close their doors during this time, Tracy has continued her cooking to help feed the hungry during the lockdown through her feeding scheme. She feeds over a thousand people in the Wentworth, Bluff and Merebank areas.
“My team takes the necessary hygiene and safety precautions during this time, but over and above that we stand in one accord trusting God to keep us covered, as there are many people without food at this time. Our main challenge has been securing donations as many businesses that are affected by the lockdown have found it difficult to assist us with food supplies. We deliver to households to avoid the people coming on the streets. Many volunteers have come on board using their vehicles and taking the time to be a blessing out there. The community has been very supportive. I would love to name everyone but I always believe your blessing lies within the secret of what you do,” she said.

Wentworth Angels is well recognised in the community and ward 68 councillor, Aubrey Snyman has granted them a permit to function as an essential service in the community, which allowed them to do their drop-offs. The team has also been able to provide 17 homes with grocery parcels.
Paul Pillay from Food for Life does all the vegetarian cooking. “A huge thank you to Paul for doing the cooking and giving of his time to assist the organisation. Your hard work and dedication doesn’t go unnoticed,” said Tracey.
Rice, vegetable packs, oil and disposable take-away containers are required. Wentworth Angels welcomes whatever help they can get. Any sponsors or willing volunteers can contact Tracey on 074-703-1393 or Paul on 084-441-5647 or email wentworthangels@yahoo.com.
