Security personnel keep criminals at bay

ET Rapid Response arrested a suspect after he had attempted to break into a business based on the lower end of Bluff Road in the Jacobs area on Tuesday, 28 April.

Surrounded by ET Rapid Response officers, SAPS, Blue and other security companies, the suspect had nowhere to go, and was arrested on site. The Metro Police K9 unit was also in attendance to assist in the search of the remaining two suspects, who unfortunately could not be located. The suspect was transported to Brighton Beach SAPS for further processing.

In a separate incident, two suspects were spotted by a resident on Moss Road carrying suspected stolen property. “Our armed response and TRT units, along with SAPS and Blue responded. Both suspects attempted to flee on foot, but were quickly apprehended, and stolen property recovered. The property was confirmed to be stolen from a nearby butchery. The suspects together with the stolen property, were taken to Brighton Beach SAPS for further processing,” said ET Rapid Response South Coast managing member, Tony Lokker.

ET also successfully recovered a stolen vehicle and sealed the deal with the apprehension of two suspects on Monday, 27 April. Following the circulation of information of a wanted motor vehicle which had been mobile in the Bluff area, members started patrolling the area in search of the vehicle.

“The vehicle was spotted parked outside a local Bluff shopping centre by a member of the Bluff CPF reaction team, and he called for assistance as he monitored the vehicle from a distance. Our armed response unit, and members of security force responded and jammed the vehicle with two occupants,” said Lokker.
Brighton Beach SAPS was called in and responded promptly. They took both occupants together with the vehicle to Brighton Beach SAPS for further processing and investigation.
