A message of support from YWPPS staff
The management and staff of Yellowwood Park Primary School (YWPPS) wanted to let their learners and families know that they are in their thoughts and prayers.
AS the hours of lockdown turned into days and the days turned into weeks, the management and staff of Yellowwood Park Primary School (YWPPS) wanted to let their learners and families know that they are in their thoughts and prayers.
Staff equipped themselves with paper, pens, paint and their artistic skills and got cracking on a special project. Messages of love and hope were beautifully created and compiled into a short video that was shared on the school’s Facebook page.
The principal, Bongani Khanyi, and deputy principal, Sherryl Reid, share the following message of hope and thanks,
“Our hope is that our learners and their families have been staying at home, staying safe, sanitising and washing their hands and practicing social distancing. We miss every learner and staff member and would love to see everyone, happy and healthy, back in the classroom. For those family members who are health workers and in essential services, we thank you for your dedication and hard work.
To our parents, we know it has not been easy taking on this extra role of teacher and mentoring your children, but we appreciate all you have done to assist them with the work sent home.
“We hope that you have made the most of this family time and know that many new skills, which would not have been taught in the classrooms, are being learnt. Let us keep our president’s message of ‘hope, recovery and rebirth’ close to our hearts at this time.”
YWPPS celebrates their 50th anniversary this year and would love for past learners and educators to join their Facebook page (Yellowwood Park Primary School) and share photos and memories of their time at the school.
