Man succumbs to mob inflicted injuries

The beating occurred on Blamey Road on Tuesday, 5 May at 8.10am.

POLICE in Montclair are investigating a case of murder after an unidentified man succumbed to his injuries after being beaten by a mob.

According to the spokesperson, captain Derek Vijiam, the beating occurred on Blamey Road on Tuesday, 5 May at 8.10am. The suspects are unknown and still at large.

“Due to his injuries, he was taken to King Edward VIII Hospital by ambulance. A case was opened for grievous bodily harm, however, the hospital staff later informed the police that the victim passed on at about 4am on Wednesday, 6 May,” he said.

Captain Vijiam added that the Montclair Trio Task Team under the supervision of Det-Captain Rico Naidoo are conducting the investigation.
