These crimes were filed between Tuesday, 26 May to Tuesday, 2 June.

A CASE of housebreaking was filed with the Montclair police after a woman on Krestel Crescent in Yellowwood Park discovered her house had been broken in the early hours of Tuesday morning, 2 June.

“The victim awoke at 2.30am and noticed that her window was forced opened. It appeared that entry was gained via the window into her house. She discovered that her flat-screen television and hi-fi was removed from her house,” said captain Derek Vijiam of Montclair SAPS.

Theft
A CONTAINER belonging to Montclair Mall on Wood Road in Montclair was discovered stolen on Tuesday, 26 May at about 9.15am.
“A security guard on duty at the mall informed the supervisor that the container, which was on the parking area, had been stolen. The container had Christmas decorations and wall tiles. There were no witnesses to the theft of container or the trailer. Investigations are ongoing,” said captain Vijiam.

Theft out of motor vehicle
A BAKKIE owner filed a case with the local police after realising his vehicle had been broken into while parked at Montclair Mall on Thursday, 28 May.

“At approximately 12pm the victim locked his vehicle, a Ford Ranger, which he parked at the mall. On his return at 1pm, he noticed the passenger door was slightly ajar. Upon closer inspection he noticed that his laptop and phone were removed,” said captain Vijiam.

Stabbing
A WOMAN is recovering after she was stabbed at her home on Swinton Road, at the SJ Smith Hostel on Sunday morning, 31 May.
“At approximately 7am, the victim was asleep on her bed in her room. The suspect, known to her, approached and questioned her about an issue from the previous day.  While she was still in bed covered with a blanket, he removed it and grabbed hold of her with physical force. He slapped her with an open palm on her face and thereafter stabbed her on her left arm with a knife causing an open wound,” said captain Vijiam.
