Bluff Pick n Pay closes temporarily, undergoes deep clean

This is the second time the Bluff-based store has had to undergo the process as it suffered the same fate in May.

PICK n Pay at Hillside Mall on the Bluff is currently undergoing a deep clean and disinfection process following a positive case of Covid-19.

According to the centre, the grocery store is the only one closed and it is business as usual at other outlets.

This is the second time the Bluff-based store has had to undergo the deep cleaning process as it suffered the same fate in May.

In a previous statement, Pick n Pay said: “We moved swiftly to trace their close contacts and they were sent home immediately to self-quarantine. As a precaution, we have arranged for the store staff who were not in close contact with the contractor to be screened by health practitioners.”

“A specialist cleaning team is deep cleaning and sanitising the entire store and it will reopen once it has been completed. We have informed the Department of Health. The store will be open soon.”

Attempts to obtain a comment from the store were futile. This is a developing story and comments from the store’s management will be published as soon as it is available.
