Wentworth man found with drugs and stolen property
The officers were conducting patrols to ensure stability in the area when they received the information.
A MAN who was detained for possession of suspected stolen property and for drug possession appeared in the Wentworth Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 27 August.
The 23-year-old man was taken into custody following patrols conducted by members of the provincial Pop Reserve Unit in the area under the command of Lt-Colonel Williams.
The officers were conducting patrols, stop-and-searches to ensure stability in the area when they were tipped-off.
“The officers went into the man’s flat and searched the premises to find a bag filled with working tools, watches, cellphones, and other items in the flat.”
“Officers further searched and found plastic packets containing dagga and wizz with small bank packets which are suspected to be used for drug packaging purposes. The suspect was then arrested after failing to give transactional proof for being in possession of these items,” said spokesperson for the Wentworth branch, Captain Mbuso Gumede.
