AN INVITE to women-owned businesses operating in the areas of Merebank, Wentworth, Austerville, Lamontville, Isipingo, Brighton Beach, Fynnlands, Clairwood and Chatsworth is extended to owners.
The Durban South Women in Business Association’s (DSWIBA) eighth information-sharing workshop takes place on Saturday, 17 October, at the Wentworth Organisation of Women (WOW) Centre, on 221 Austerville Drive from 2pm to 5pm. Attendance is free.
“The workshop will focus on the social housing development programme and presented by the KZN Department of Human Settlements. They will explain how companies can apply for accreditation as a social housing company or developer and the role of the National Social Housing Regulatory Council,” said the group’s president, Greta Apelgren-Narkedien.
The group has previously hosted free workshops focused on an app called ‘AmaCosting Building’, which assists small construction companies to price their construction projects realistically.
Other gatherings included detailed talks on business coaching, government and municipal procurement (tender) processes and hosting a small business exhibition and fundraising dinner and dance.
DSWIBA is committed to assisting women to achieve economic independence, create sustainable jobs for unemployed women and to provide a platform for women to discuss business-related issues and challenges confronting women-owned businesses.
They also secure practical advice and resources to intervene and develop the capacity of women in the Durban South area.
