CROW welcomes new patients over festive season
Various winged, four-legged, big and small animals found their way into the Yellowwood Park based centre for some much-needed TLC.
IT was a relatively normal festive season for the wildlife warriors at the Centre for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow).
Various winged, four-legged, big and small animals found their way into the Yellowwood Park based centre for some much-needed TLC. 
“Although it was fairly normal as compared to previous years, there was direct link to the festive season and patient influx. There was a lot of baby birds fell out of nests in response to the fireworks. Most of our patients seem to be hadedas, pigeons and doves which is also quite common during this time. We also admitted 13 new baby monkeys and had a lot of duiker and antelope as well.
“We did have one story of an abandoned troop of baby mongoose by the beach. Sadly, someone had been kicking them and one of the mongoose died before we were able to rescue the rest of them. The remaining troop has been admitted at the centre and in the care of our reliable staff,” said Crow Communications Officer, Alex Kogl.
