Voxpop: Will you be taking the Covid-19 vaccine?
The SUN took to the streets to find out the community's thoughts on the Covid-19 vaccine.

AS countries across the world vaccinate millions of its citizens, South Africa awaits the arrival of the Covid-19 vaccine to its shores. The SUN took to the streets to find out the community’s thoughts on the vaccine and whether or not they will be taking it.

Maliga Alexander: If the vaccine is something will heal us and has been tried and tested, I will accept it. I want to shut out all the negativity about it because I strongly believe that God has given man wisdom in creation so that scientists may be able to create this vaccine. With all the things one seen’s on social media, you do get messed up in the way that you think about Covid-19. But my journey is in God and I will therefore make a decision that will be guided by Him to accept the vaccine.

Rodelle Sewell: I don’t know much about the vaccine, but what I have heard is that it’s the ‘triple six’ and the ‘mark of the beast’ who will rule the world. The vaccine is the government’s way to control everybody. Personally, my family is very spiritual and I don’t think I’ll be taking the vaccine. But I will continue taking my home remedies, vitamins and implementing Covid-19 safety measures.

Sphesihle Ngema: Personally, I don’t think that the vaccine is safe nor do I agree with it from my religious perspective. We also haven’t been well informed what exactly is in this vaccine as the public. I won’t be taking it and I wouldn’t suggest that anyone else takes it, although it is their choice at the end of the day.

Dylan Wheatley: From what I’ve heard, the vaccine is to ensure that we don’t get Covid-19 and that we’re safe. I do not see myself taking the vaccine because I do not believe that everything we hear from government and the news is completely true. They choose what to tell us and we have no way of knowing everything. I believe this is a man-made virus and this is all part of a new world order to control us. It’s the ‘mark of the beast’. I also find it very weird that they got a vaccine so fast for Coronavirus yet there are other illness which still don’t have effective vaccines.
