Pensioner’s vouchers to be collected this week

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the city's annual senior citizens year-ed function could not be held last year.

DUE to Covid-19 restrictions, the city’s annual senior citizens year-ed function could not be held last year. According to ward 64 councillor, Gavin Hegter, the municipality has alternatively made vouchers available to pensioners.

“These vouchers are only for people over the age of 60 years who live in the respective wards. All recipients will be required to produce their ID and proof of address. There are limited number of vouchers so they will be issued on a first come basis,” said Hegter.

For ward 64, distribution will take place at the councillor’s office at Yellowwood Park Civic Hall from 9am to 12pm on Wednesday, 3 and Thursday, 4 February. For ward 66 distribution will take place at the Wentworth Bowling Club, from 9am to 2pm on Wednesday, 3, Thursday, 4 and Friday, 5 February.

All applicants must ensure that they wear a mask and practice social distancing.
