Lock doors and gates, police warn
Two men with a firearm pounced on a woman who was indoors with two young boys.

POLICE in Montclair warn residents to not leave doors and gates unlocked when in the house.
This follows a house robbery in Coedmore Road, Yellowwood Park on Thursday, 18 March at about 1.30pm.
“The victim was at the house caring for two young boys. She was surprised by the entrance of two unknown men who pointed at her with a firearm.”
“They demanded cellphones and cash. The suspects removed electronic equipment and cash. They fled the scene on foot,” said communication officer, Captain Derek Vijiam.
He warns residents to always lock gates, continuously be alert and make safety a priority.
Business robbery
A CASE of business robbery was registered with the Montclair Police after a hotel receptionist and bartender were held at gunpoint on Monday, 15 March at about 8.20am on South Coast Road, Clairwood.
“The victim was at the reception area of the hotel when she noticed an unknown man and woman enter and greet her. Immediately after, the bartender entered and went up the stairs to the bar area.”
“A few minutes later another man entered and asked where the doctor’s rooms were. The victim responded and directed him to the first floor. He then asked about the bar area and the receptionist directed him there.”
“He lifted his shirt and showed her his firearm and told her to accompany him. At the bar area, he pointed the firearm at the bar lady and told her to open the gambling machines and she complied. The suspect and his accomplice removed the cash from the machines and fled the scene,” said Vijiam.
The investigation is conducted by Sergeant Msizi Msomi who requests assistance from anyone with information regarding this robbery. Call him on 079-500-0836.
Business robbery
A PRAYER meeting was interrupted by men carrying a firearm at their place of worship on Friday, 12 March at about 4.55am on South Coast Road, Clairwood.
“While worshipers were about to pray, they were approached by three unknown men. They pointed a firearm and demanded the keys to the safe.”
“They removed a cluster of keys from the religious site and thereafter searched the victims taking cash. The victims did not have cell phones on them as they not allowed in the prayer room. The suspects fired one round and fled the scene,” said Vijiam.
The investigation is done by D/Sergeant Sifiso Shezi who requests assistance from anyone with information regarding this robbery. Call him on 079-500-0836.
