Suspects caught in the act in Yellowwood Park
The alert homeowner pressed a panic button and advised security that the suspects were on site.
TWO would-be robbers were caught in the act in an attempted burglary at a Yellowwood Park home on Tuesday, 27 April.
According to Blue Security, the suspects entered the yard and forced open a metal gate to access a small courtyard outside the kitchen.
They then smashed through a glass pane on the kitchen’s aluminium door and tampered with the lock.
“The home is well secured with burglar guards. The suspects must have attempted to open the door from the inside. The alert homeowner pressed the panic button and advised our command centre that the suspects were on site,” said spokesperson, Omeshnie Naidoo.
She said an armed response officer arrived immediately on the scene and searched the yard. The two men were found hiding in the bushes at the rear of the premises and were apprehended.
“Nothing was stolen from the home, but the kitchen door was damaged. The suspects were handed over to Montclair SAPS, and the homeowner opened a case of attempted housebreaking,” she added.
