Wentworth boy (16) found with firearm and live rounds
He was arrested and detained in Wentworth SAPS' holding cells.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested for an unlicensed firearm and unlicensed ammunition.
According to Wentworth police’s spokesperson, Captain Mbuso Gumede, the Metro Police were deployed in Wentworth on Sunday, 13 June, at about 4:30pm.
“While patrolling, they stopped the boy and upon searching him, a firearm with six live ammunition were found in his possession. The suspect was unable to give satisfactory reasons for the possession and had no valid licence to carry it. The suspect was arrested and detained in Wentworth SAPS’ holding cells,” he said.
The suspect appeared at Wentworth Court Monday, 14 June.
The investigator sent the boy to Durban Court because he is a juvenile.
