Man arrested for defeating ends of justice

Super sleuth Sergeant Sifiso Shezi, thoroughly investigated the case and found the mans' story to be very far-fetched.

MONTCLAIR trio crimes officers arrested a man for defeating the ends of justice on Monday, 14 June, at about 17:00.

Molaris Dane Pillay opened a case of car-jacking and kidnapping just a month before his arrest on Friday, 14 May, at 16:00.

Super sleuth Sergeant Sifiso Shezi, thoroughly investigated the case and found the story to appeared very far-fetched.

“On further investigation, the sergeant established that the complainant opened a false case. Comprehensive investigation continued with the shell of the vehicle being recovered on a property in Chatsworth.” 

“The complainant, now accused, went into hiding. After several attempts to meet with him failed, he was arrested by Sergeants Shezi and Bhekumuzi Dlamini,” said communications officer, Captain Derek Vijiam.

He added that Pillay was detained, charged at the Montclair police station and appeared at the Durban Court on Friday, 18 June. “The public is cautioned on the opening of false cases. They will result in arrests,” he said.
