Montclair Saps' spokesperson, Captain Derek Vijiam gives insight into the latest on the crime scene.

House Robbery

A WOMAN was startled by an intruder in her Langton Road, Woodlands home on Friday, September 10 at about 13:00. She heard a loud noise coming from the bedroom window which was forced open. Upon investigation, she noticed a man entering the house through the window.

“As she began to scream, he told her to keep quiet before he did something. She stopped screaming out of fear and noticed a second accomplice entering to joined him. The two proceeded into all rooms of the house. They wore masks and gloves. They removed jewellery laptop and cash,” said Montclair Saps’ spokesperson, Captain Derek Vijiam. He added that the two suspects left on foot with the stolen goods.

Carjacking

A MAN was cornered by two unknown men into handing over his car keys on South Coast Road on Friday, September 10 at about 09:50. He had parked his Toyota Corolla opposite Manyaweni and proceeded to shop at a local store.

“When the victim returned to his vehicle, he was accosted by two unknown men. One of them pointed a firearm at the victim and demanded his car keys. He reluctantly handed over his keys and both suspects got into the vehicle and drove off. The vehicle was found and picked up by a tracking company in Lamontville. It was later handed back to the owner,” said Vijiam.

Carjacking

A TRIO of armed men forced out and shot at a stationary driver parked on the corner of Down Avenue and Ronald Road, Montclair on Saturday, September 11 at about 19:00. One of the three unknown men approached the driver’s window and produced a firearm pointing at him.

“He demanded that the driver alights the vehicle. While in the process of alighting the vehicle, the suspect shot him in his right leg. The suspects got into the vehicle and drove off. The victim was taken to Wentworth Hospital and discharged later. The vehicle was fitted with a tracking device. Both tracker company and Rapid Response picked up a signal in Emalangeni area where they tracked the vehicle and arrested three suspects. Investigations are continuing,” said Vijiam.
