Montclair crime in brief
Montclair police's spokesperson, Captain Derek Vijiam, provides the latest crime incidents in the jurisdiction.

A SECURITY guard posted at the entrance of a doctor’s surgery on South Coast Road, Mobeni, was surprised by three unknown men who produced firearms on Wednesday, September 29, at about 17:30.
“The three men posed as if they were patients. They forced the guard to open the gate. Once inside, they removed cellphones and a large sum of cash from staff and doctors. No one was injured. Montclair Detective Sergeant Sifiso Shezi is investigating the case,” Montclair police’s spokesperson, Captain Derek Vijiam.
Carjacking
A MAN leaving his home on Finfoot Road, Woodhaven, was approached by three unknown men and held at gunpoint on Thursday, September 30, at about 18:55. According to Vijiam the man was about to open his gate when the incident happened.
“He was pushed back into his vehicle and they drove off with him inside. They proceeded in an unknown direction. They continuously assaulted him on his head until he was dropped off near Philani Valley in Umlazi. His vehicle was later detected and recovered in U Section Umlazi. Montclair Detective-Sergeant Sifiso Shezi is investigating the case,” said Vijiam.
Carjacking
A MAN making a delivery on Upton Road in Woodlands was accosted by three unknown men on Thursday, September 30, at about 10:00. He was in the vehicle awaiting the arrival of his assistant when the incident happened.
“One of them produced a firearm. They pushed him out of his vehicle, a Hyundai H100. One of the suspects drove in an unknown white Toyota Etios with no registration plates. The victim was driven with the suspects to the Mobeni Cemetery where he was dropped off. The suspects were all wearing masks. Detective-Sergeant Sifiso Shezi is investigating the case,” Vijiam said.
