Brighton Beach robber brothers to make court appearance

Brighton Beach detectives teamed up with Narcotics, Crime Intelligence and Metro Police units.

TWO men linked to two cases of robbery in the Brighton Beach policing precinct were arrested on Wednesday night, October 13.

The intelligence-driven operation was carried out by Brighton Beach detectives assisted by the Provincial Organised Crime Investigations (Narcotics), Crime Intelligence and Metro Police.

The two men aged 19 and 25 will appear at the Durban Magistrates Court today (Friday, October 15) for crimes committed in September and this month.

According to the provincial spokesperson for the police, Colonel Thembeka Mbele, officers set out in search of the suspects who were wanted for robbery cases committed in the area.

“They proceeded to Reservoir Hills where they were found on the premises and placed under arrest. Two firearms and a vehicle suspected to be used in the commission of the crimes was seized by police.”

“It is alleged that two people were robbed of their cellphones and belongings. The suspects will be profiled to check if they are linked to other robbery cases committed in the province. They are expected to appear before the Durban Magistrates Court on charges of robbery,” she said.
