Yellowwood Park FC claim title of champs
Yellowwood Park took the victory cup and the title of champions at the Grant Freshwater Tournament.
YELLOWWOOD PARK FC took the victory cup and the title of champions at the Grant Freshwater Tournament.
The tournament, which was hosted by Escombe FC, kicked off on Saturday, August 21, and came to a close on Saturday, October 23.
Man of the match was awarded to Michael Morgan when Yellowwood Park FC took on Highway United FC in the finals. The club scored an impressive 24 goals overall with six goals conceded. The top goal scorer was Carlyle Payne, who scored eight goals. Coaches were Craig Inggs, Gordon Jenkins, Greg Ferns and Sibusiso Mgobhozi.
There were 12 Premier League teams that took part.
Local clubs included Sisonke FC from Montclair, Montwood FC from Woodlands, Fynnland FC from the Bluff, Rosehill Crusaders FC from Wentworth and Cherrians FC from Wentworth and the winning club, YWP FC. Other clubs included Escombe FC, Brettonwood Old Boys, Collegians FC, Ashley FC, Westville Old Boys FC and Highway United FC.
