Truck tyres stolen in armed robbery

SIX security guards at a trucking company on South Coast Road in Clairwood were approached by eight men who pointed firearms at them before instructing them to lay on the ground, while one suspect kept guard with a firearm pointed at them on Sunday, February 13, at 03:00. Captain Derek Vijiam of Montclair SAPS said the suspects immediately began to remove tyres from the trucks that were parked on the premises. “Once the tyres were removed, the suspect fired a round off before leaving the premises with the stolen goods,” he said. Any person who can assist with information that would help the investigation should contact Detective Sergeant Sifiso Shezi, the investigation officer, on 079 500 0836.

Carjacking at petrol station

A MAN who was filling petrol into his white Isuzu at the service station on Leicester road, Mobeni, was accosted by two unknown men who were in possession of a firearm on Thursday, February 10, at about 07:05. “He was threatened when the suspects pointed the firearm at him and demanded his vehicle. They removed his cell phone and his wallet from him. The petrol attendant together with the victim were instructed to lie on the ground. The suspects then got into the vehicle and drove off,” said Vijiam. Any person who can assist with information that would help the investigation can contact Detective Sergeant Sifiso Shezi on 079 500 0836.

Man assaulted and robbed

A MAN who was using his cell phone while walking on Buller Road in Montclair was assaulted and robbed on Friday, February 11, at about 06:45. “The victim noticed a VW Polo passing him. He immediately put his cell phone into his pocket. One of the occupants of the VW Polo came and assaulted him while the other had a knife in a ready position. The cell fell out his pocket while being assaulted. The suspect took the phone and made their getaway in the same vehicle,” Vijiam said.

Armed robbery at robots A MAN was driving on South Coast Road, Clairwood on Friday, February 11, at about 21:40. “When he was stationery at the traffic light, he was cornered by a silver Etios and approached by three unknown men, one armed with a firearm. The suspects pointed a firearm at him while they removed cash, speed point and his cell phone,” said Vijiam.
