St. Mary’s spellers bee-light parents with successful spelling bee

The St Mary Primary School played host to a buzzing spelling bee which saw learners go head to head to become the top wordsmith.

IN an exhilarating showcase of linguistic talent, St. Mary’s Primary School recently hosted a spelling bee in their school hall.

The event attracted a large crowd of proud parents who enthusiastically supported their children as they competed for the top prize.

Deputy principal Ramesh Singh commented, “The competition was fierce, with participants demonstrating exceptional spelling abilities. The intense battle of wits spanned an impressive 19 rounds, each bringing new challenges for the young spellers.”

Ethan Naidoo emerged as the champion, spelling his way to the top spot with confidence. Bridgette Padayachee earned a commendable second place, while Josiah Ganason secured third position.

Event coordinator Sandra Govender expressed her pride, saying, “We are incredibly proud of all our participants. Their dedication to language and learning is truly inspiring. The event underscored the school’s commitment to nurturing academic excellence and providing a supportive environment for our learners to excel.”
