Kingfisher house soars at Impact Christian Academy sports day

Impact Christian Academy’s two houses went head to head to claim the spot as the top team with participants engaged in various track and field events, including specially tailored fun races for the Educare Group.

IMPACT Christian Academy hosted its annual inter-house sports day on July 26, which was brimming with excitement, competition and team spirit. The event featured two teams, Kingfisher and Robin, vying for victory across a wide array of athletic contests.

Participants engaged in various track and field events, including the 60m, 80m, 100m, 200m, 800m, and 1 200m races, along with javelin, discus, long jump, high jump, and shot put competitions. The youngest learners from the Educare Group also participated in specially tailored fun races, adding to the day’s festivities.

Anna Watson, Thandolwethu Chemane, Kenzi van Rooyen, Arianna Ogle and Zithandwa Mnguni sprint the 100m course.

Kingfisher claimed the championship title with an impressive 665 points. Principal Kerry Holland expressed her joy at the event’s success, highlighting the outstanding team spirit and sportsmanship displayed by all the participants.

Lerato Dlamini, Tumelo Mndaweni, Hlalumi Tshitsha, Awande Phungula and Makena Harrower closing in on the finish line.

“It was wonderful to witness the team spirit and sportsmanship of all the athletes. A big thank you to our parents and grandparents who came to cheer and support the learners. The sports field was filled with a beautiful atmosphere of camaraderie and energetic enthusiasm. We are incredibly proud of all our athletes,” said Holland.

The inter-house sports day not only showcased athletic prowess but also reflected the strong community bonds within Impact Christian Academy.
